Why Socialize your Puppy?
The first year of your puppy’s development is a crucial time that will shape who they will become as an adult. Just as they would in a pack, dogs teach each other with trial and error, feedback, and play. Play helps build social skills, as well as muscles and coordination. We provide a space where the pups come in a few at a time and learn to make new friends, play appropriately, learn bite inhibition, gain confidence and self-control. Your pup will be introduced to new pups taking into account their personality and past experiences. BabyDog instructors are right in the pen with the puppies, providing a safe and secure environment. Think of this as practice time, the more your dog nips the more opportunity they have to learn how to control it. The more they greet new dogs, the better they become at understanding the signals for play, excitement, stress, or fear. The more exposure to new dogs and people, the more they have to feel confident about.

What will you Learn?
What if you could understand what your dog is saying? Dogs speak through scent, vocalizations, and body movements. Have you ever wondered why your dog wags its tail in different ways or shakes when it is not even wet? During this class, we will be watching and explaining what and why each dog is doing what they are doing. When you understand dog language, you know what your dog needs and feels. Understanding the body language of other dogs will help to keep you and your pet safe.
