BabyDog was recommended to me by a friend and now I am in a position to recommend them to my friends and family. I contacted BabyDog for private sessions to help me improve my puppy’s impulse control. My Jack Russell Terrier had a terrible habit of picking things up and eating them - everything. Even dangerous things. I was at the point where I felt I could not keep him safe and I was considering rehoming him. The Baby Dog trainer and I worked slowly and methodically building a strong foundation of impulse control commands such as no, leave it, drop it, sit/stay, and place. We added one or two new skills every week. As my pup improved we worked on walking skills and recall. Everything finally came together and now my pup lives safely and happily, as a member of our family, and loves training every day. I am so pleased with my investment in my dog and my partnership with BabyDog. Their training methodology is science-based, gentle, kind, and it has proven itself effective for my dog. I found the trainer to be knowledgeable, skilled, patient, and kind. She was an excellent communicator for both handler and puppy. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her, gaining confidence in my ability to teach my pup and his capacity to learn. My dog and I are now a team, training every day, and continuing to solidify the skills we have learned. I am a BabyDog customer for life.

These guys are just brilliant, we started the puppy classes with our 13 week old feisty pomsky and it had a hugely beneficial effect on her behavior, the private lessons helped us iron out early problems and now at 1.5 years old we have an amazing lovable behaved dog that s a true joy. Knowledgeable, patient with dogs and humans :) Recommended!

I highly recommend Dave and Tomey K9 Services! I knew my 6 y.o. Yorkiepoo Benny wanted to please, but I didn't know where to begin to help him rein in all of his energy around people and reactivity around other dogs. Dave taught me how to use redirection and positive reinforcement to help Benny become more obedient and calm. Benny now looks to me to see how he should react when another dog or distraction is coming our way, and I know how to help him through what used to be anxiety provoking situations. Baby Dog puppy socialization classes are such a blast. Watching your pup learn how to interact and have fun with dogs of all sizes in a controlled environment is great. As a new dog owner this is exactly what we needed.

The trainers at Baby Dog Canada are knowledgeable and kind and have been instrumental in helping me raise a happy, well socialised dog. I highly recommend them to anyone with a new puppy or a dog who needs a refresher in some of their skills.

While I have owned dogs most of my life so far, I have never had a young puppy. Wanting to do right by her, I researched training and socialization classes. Baby Dog was the one that was recommended over and over again without hesitation. We've now been going to weekly sessions for three months and my dog while having mastered what they teach loves the class so much that we just keep coming. When I pull up in front of the class she knows what we're there for and her excitement is off the charts. Aviva and her team run amazing classes and they should be the go to for every new puppy owner in Victoria. I studied to be a dog trainer 17 years ago when considering a career change. That said, I have learned a ton from Aviva while having our pup trained and her approach and explanations are much more effective and in line with what dogs need, than what I was originally taught. We are very luck to have Baby Dog as a resource.

Dave was such a huge help in getting our 8 month old Shiba's fear barking under control. Despite doing our best to socialize him when he was young, he for some reason developed a fear of people and would bark uncontrollably if he was surprised by someone. We read several books and watched tons of Youtube videos in an effort to address it, but couldn't get any traction. Dave was able to help us get it under control in just a few sessions. While he doesn't exactly "like" people, he is now a quiet and confident dog around them. What a difference! I'd highly recommend their puppy socialization classes at Bosley's as well.

Our trainer was intelligent, skilled, and kind. Helped us understand our own dog’s behaviour better and provided us tips and tricks to help us care for her safely in all settings. While we’ve had other dogs in the past, we’ve never had a bully breed so appreciated her generalized as well as her personalized insights. Always felt supported. Worth every penny.

Great place knowledgeable and caring trainers

Danika is very professional, and encouraging in ensuring you get the value for the training. She was able to address behavioral issues with my puppy and was able to provide effective solutions. More importantly, she provided tips on how to train humans and little humans on proper dog handling.

Dave is a great trainer. My Staffordshire Terrier - Blue loves seeing Dave and does everything Dave asks of him. Dave is easy to talk to and understands what I would like to work towards being able to do with Blue. Blue and I will continue training with Dave. I highly recommend him.

Two months ago I adopted an 8 week old puppy, Ormandy, from Yellowknife with no idea what I was doing. I had never had a pet before and was overwhelmed and nervous. I started going to BabyDog Socialization classes immediately and have felt so supported and well educated by Ruth and Aviva. We have attended socialization classes regularly and I have seen a huge change in Ormandy's behaviour and an even bigger change in my understanding and behaviour. Me and Ormandy are starting a basic obedience class with BabyDog this weekend and I can't wait to see how much more we learn!! I recommend BabyDog to everyone I meet that has a pup, they've helped us both so much.

I've had my rescue dog now for about five weeks...and have found the drop-in group obedience classes, and outdoor group socialization walks invaluable in learning to communicate with my loving pooch. Aviva (and her other trainers) highlight the need to reinforce positive behaviours in the training process. This is a far cry from the "NO!" and "Bad DOG!" comments that you hear from owners who are not aware of the positive behaviour modification skills that you learn through Baby Dog training. I invited a friend of mine and her dog to join Samson and I on one of the pet socialization walks. She was amazed how much you could learn on just one walk, and how it opened her eyes to the training that can yield so many positive results. Thank you Aviva and Baby Dog..!
