1000+ dogs (and their people) helped
It was an absolute delight to work with Aviva to help 5 year old Happy, a Crested Maltese Little Man, to feel safe no matter who we encounter walking about and to more immediately respond to directions given. Aviva made it fun to learn for both Happy and me.
Our trainer was intelligent, skilled, and kind. Helped us understand our own dog’s behaviour better and provided us tips and tricks to help us care for her safely in all settings. While we’ve had other dogs in the past, we’ve never had a bully breed so appreciated her generalized as well as her personalized insights. Always felt supported. Worth every penny.
When I was being challenged by training my large teenage Golden, I asked Aviva to help me get back on track. We had taken him to puppy socialization previously and knew Aviva would be the trainer that could help us because of her experience and the gentle but firm way she has with dogs. I learned what I needed to do in order to have Monte pay attention and listen to me. We have a much calmer dog now that he respects me as a leader. Thank you, Aviva, you gave me practical and simple things to do so I could be successful with him and consistency and practice have really paid off. Our lives have changed for the better!
If you’re looking for puppy training, you can stop now. You’ve found the best. My pup, Zion, a three-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog, has gained more in his training sessions with Baby Dog than I could possibly have accomplished on my own. Like any over-functioning pup parent, I read the books, listened to the podcasts, and watched the YouTube videos. None of that compared to the information, coaching, and motivation we received from our trainer, Danika. Each week, Danika presented us with new training tools, discussed them in detail, and went though the steps with Zion. Then I would make my attempts, with Danika giving helpful tips and tricks along the way. Zion absolutely loved Danika. She was lovely with him: calm energy, engaging demeanour, and just the right amount of assertiveness when he needed it. Danika was flexible with the sessions, keeping us on track, but was also happy to answer all of my random questions. Her follow up emails were very helpful. Now that we’ve completed the beginner sessions, I plan to take a few months off, then attend the intermediate classes. Danika has given us so much to work with, and I look forward to watching Zion develop his skills then show them off when we meet again!
While I have owned dogs most of my life so far, I have never had a young puppy. Wanting to do right by her, I researched training and socialization classes. Baby Dog was the one that was recommended over and over again without hesitation. We've now been going to weekly sessions for three months and my dog while having mastered what they teach loves the class so much that we just keep coming. When I pull up in front of the class she knows what we're there for and her excitement is off the charts. Aviva and her team run amazing classes and they should be the go to for every new puppy owner in Victoria. I studied to be a dog trainer 17 years ago when considering a career change. That said, I have learned a ton from Aviva while having our pup trained and her approach and explanations are much more effective and in line with what dogs need, than what I was originally taught. We are very luck to have Baby Dog as a resource.
Awesome trainers! Really help your dog receive a positive start.
I took our puppy Yodel to the socialization classes for almost 4 months. I found it extremely helpful and I learned a lot about how puppies interact and what different body language signals mean. Avila is very knowledgeable about dog behaviours.
Meg was wonderful. She had such a calm approach with all the pups and understood they all come from different backgrounds. I highly recommend. :)
Our training sessions have really helped us learn how to work with our high anxiety dog. The one on one sessions were really well catered to his and our specific needs. It is training with care and compassion and it has worked to change our dogs behaviour. They are so generous with their knowledge which makes the sessions really high value - definitely worth the investment, and worth the wait if they are busy.
Babydog group have been fantastic. We joined the socialization group, and a few dog walks. Both were very helpful for both me and Ruby.
Great trainers, practical lessons. Their puppy socializing classes make all the difference with getting young puppies... Err.. socialized. You know, like the name says.
Hands down. The BabyDog Team are the best Victoria resource to help socialize and train your puppy. If you have a puppy, you need to take it to BabyDog! It will shape your dogs life and yours forever. They have lot's of options for group classes, pack walks, and private lessons. The team of puppy whisperers are fantastic. Very professional and knowledgeable of all breeds and canine psychology. We took our puppy Oscar for a pack walk, group sessions, and a private lesson and we're constantly being complimented on his socialization skills and general behavior. Any time we meet someone with a new puppy we always recommend looking into BabyDog. It's not easy learning to be a dog parent and understanding what your puppy needs. BabyDog can help. I've had my rescue dog now for about five weeks...and have found the drop-in group obedience classes, and outdoor group socialization walks invaluable in learning to communicate with my loving pooch. Aviva (and her other trainers) highlight the need to reinforce positive behaviours in the training process. This is a far cry from the "NO!" and "Bad DOG!" comments that you hear from owners who are not aware of the positive behaviour modification skills that you learn through Baby Dog training. I invited a friend of mine and her dog to join Samson and I on one of the pet socialization walks. She was amazed how much you could learn on just one walk, and how it opened her eyes to the training that can yield so many positive results. Thank you Aviva and Baby Dog..!
I had the opportunity to see Emma in action at her socialization class for shy/tiny dogs last Saturday. I brought along a timid foster dog and couldn’t believe how calmly and skilfully she managed a class of 10 dogs and their owners. She was quickly able to organize the pups into appropriate small groups and guide us through introduction exercises. I learned so much as a participant, and while observing the other groups too. Emma set each dog up for success by ensuring everyone had a safe space to move through the instructions at their own pace. I’m thrilled with the progress my dog made in just one hour! We’ll definitely attend the class as often as possible, and I’d recommend Emma to anyone looking for a dog trainer.
We took our puppy to Babydog at Bosleys it is 100% worth the 10 dollars for a drop in socialization class. We loved it so much we went 3 times a week for months. It really does help you learn your dogs body language, and getting to hold other peoples adorable puppies is priceless. If you like puppies you will love babydog
A wonderful place for young pups to have safe and supervised playtime. While educating owners about appropriate play.
